BENEFIT GALA
A New Life For Ancient Chinese Jades And Bronzes At The Freer
Wednesday, November 17, 2010
Celebrate the return of stunning Chinese artworks to the Freer Gallery of Art at this year's annual benefit gala. The evening will herald the reopening of two of the Chinese galleries undergoing a complete redesign and reinstallation in the Freer. The jade and bronze works in these rooms, among the greatest treasures of Chinese art outside China, will be back on public view after more than a decade in storage.
The black-tie affair will begin at 6:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy a private viewing of Galleries 18 and 19 with Keith Wilson, associate director and curator of ancient Chinese art. Dinner will follow at 8 p.m. The evening will end with dessert and dancing in the Freer's beautiful marble corridors.
The Freer and Sackler galas are a highlight of the Washington social and business calendar, attracting a distinguished coterie of ambassadors and diplomatic leaders, corporate executives, and leading international art patrons. We hope you can join us on November 17, 2010, for this evening of festivity and rediscovery.
Individual tickets for dinner start at $1,000 and can be purchased online. Tables of ten, which come with an enticing array of benefits, are available starting at $10,000. Please complete and return the table reservation form to purchase.
