Visitor Information Sackler Entrance Closed November 18-19
Due to the installation of "Perspectives: Anish Kapoor," the entrance to the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery will be closed on November 18 and 19. On those days, visitors can enter the Sackler through the Freer Gallery of Art on Jefferson Drive (on the Mall) or Independence Avenue at 12th Street, SW. Visitors who need access to elevators should use the handicap-accessible entrance to the Freer Gallery on Independence Avenue. The Sackler entrance will reopen at 10:00 a.m. on November 20. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Location
The galleries are located on the National Mall, the grassy area between the Capitol and the Washington Monument, steps from the Smithsonian Metro stop. The Sackler Gallery is located at 1050 Independence Avenue, SW. The Freer Gallery of Art is located at Jefferson Drive at 12th Street, SW. The two museums are connected by an underground exhibition space.

Hours and Admission
Hours are from 10 AM to 5:30 PM every day except Dec. 25, and admission is free.

Accessibilty
Handicap accessible entrance to the Freer Gallery is located on Independence Avenue at 12th Street, SW.


Security Enhancements
In the light of September 11, the Smithsonian has instituted new security measures.

Limited on-street parking is available, including reserved spaces for visitors with disabilities. Information on transportation in D.C.

The Freer and Sackler do not have on-site eateries; however, there are places to eat close by and in other Smithsonian museums.
