About the Series
The Freer Gallery of Art Occasional Papers, new series, reprises the series initially launched in 1947 under the stewardship of the museum's director, A. G. Wenley. Intended for a specialist readership, this peer-reviewed series publishes research on Asian art from a variety of perspectives. The titles will range widely in subject and include monographs, conference proceedings, multi-author treatments of material or theme, and studies in conservation and scientific research. The new series presents a new, larger format, chiefly with black-and-white illustrations but with the possibility of color plates and the option to include supplementary material—such as images, tables, graphs, video—in a companion web publication.
